Abstract

The quality of surface distribution of agrochemicals is a determining factor for resource conservation and environmental safety in crop production. This work is dedicated to resolving the scientific and technical contradiction between the necessity of maintaining the regulated spray dispersity and the destructive impact of wind load on the sprayer boom. The results of comparative studies on the performance of base nozzles (RD-4.0, RD.05.SD5-b) and the developed combined device for liquid mineral fertilizer application are presented. Based on the developed algorithm for binarization and segmentation of particle impacts in the Fiji (ImageJ) environment, fundamental deposition parameters were evaluated: the number of active spots, integral coverage percentage, mean impact area, and Feret diameter. It was established that the developed technical solutions demonstrate high operational adaptability. It was determined that the combined deflector device minimizes the drop in surface coverage coefficient to 3% during the transition to the open field, while the combined jet device suppresses the processes of particle coagulation and destructive hydraulic shock. The research results confirm the operability of the developed device during bench and production trials.
